The ExoActive is an active exoskeleton, not a spring harness. An 18 V pack drives a compressor feeding a small air reservoir, and pneumatic cylinders on the arms push back when sensors at the joints detect you lifting — up to about 50 N per forearm, roughly five kilograms of help, taking as much as 30% of the load off the front of the shoulder. It doesn't make the tool lighter; it changes who carries the weight, which is what turns twenty minutes of overhead work into an afternoon of it. Support can be set to three working zones — from the waist up, from the chest up, or overhead only — so it assists where the job actually is. It goes on like a rucksack and adjusts to height in a moment. Drywalling, painting, wallpapering, installation: anything held above your head longer than it should be.
