Edge banding closes the raw edge of a board so a panel reads as solid rather than cut. The machine applies tape from a magazine and presses it home in the same pass, working on the board or mounted to a bench. Glue comes from a cartridge and is melted only as it is needed, so it doesn't sit in a pot going dark and stringy — and a colour change takes a cartridge swap rather than a purge. EVA is the everyday adhesive, in natural, white, brown and black to disappear into the edge, and holds through roughly −10 °C to +75 °C. PU is the universal one: higher initial grab, which is what curved and free-form edges need to stay put while the glue cures. The finishing accessories separate a good edge from an obvious one — trimming heads, scrapers, sanding blocks and polishing felt to take the applied edge flush and smooth.
